Paul Polman Trivia Questions

Polman was born and raised in the Netherlands but has lived and worked in multiple countries, including the US, UK, and Nigeria.

Polman was appointed CEO of Unilever on 1 January 2009 and stepped down on 1 January 2019, a widely reported tenure.

In 2015, Unilever announced its goal to become carbon positive by 2030, meaning it would generate more renewable energy than it consumes.

Polman pushed for reduced plastic and more recyclable packaging, but he never banned it entirely. Unilever still uses plastic today, though they've pledged to make all packaging reusable or recyclable by 2025.

Polman retired voluntarily in 2019 after a decade as CEO. He famously stopped issuing quarterly earnings guidance to focus on long-term value, a move many criticized but he defended.
